Nant Pinot Noir Cask Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky
- Low stock - 1 item left
One of the least common cask types Nant ever worked with, this release is matured in French oak casks that previously held Tasmanian pinot noir. Where most of the estate's output moved through bourbon, sherry or port wood, pinot noir casks were used only occasionally, drawing on Tasmania's standing as cool-climate pinot country as much as its whisky credentials. The wine cask brings a lighter, more delicate profile than Nant's sherry or port releases, with the maraschino and stone-fruit notes typical of pinot noir maturation coming through clearly against the clean, reflux-heavy spirit from the estate's onion-necked stills.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Caramelised sugar, almond and marzipan, with a maraschino cherry sweetness.
Palate: Clean and crisp, with vanilla, apple, pear and honey.
Finish: Spiced vanilla, smooth and lightly oily, medium in length.
Why Choose Nant Pinot Noir Cask
For collectors who already hold Nant's bourbon, sherry and port releases, this is the wood type least often seen, and a natural addition for anyone tracking the full range of cask experiments to come out of the Bothwell estate.
