Nant French Oak Port Wood 2013 Release Cask Strength Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky
- Low stock - 1 item left
Matured in French oak casks that previously held port and bottled without dilution, this is the full-strength expression of Nant's port wood single malt. Left at cask strength rather than cut back with the estate's own highland water, it carries considerably more weight and heat than the standard-strength release, with the berry-driven character of the port cask pushed further forward. As a single-cask bottling from Nant's early archive, it's no longer produced, and full-proof Nant releases were only ever bottled in limited number.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Ripe berry fruit and red wine sweetness, more pronounced than the standard-strength release, with clear spirit heat underneath.
Palate: Full-bodied, berry and dried fruit carried by the port cask, with building spice and noticeable warmth.
Finish: Long, warming, fruit and oak lingering well past the swallow.
Why Choose Nant French Oak Port Wood, Cask Strength
For collectors who know Nant's standard-strength port wood release and want the same cask at full intensity, or who prefer to add water themselves and control dilution. A scarce full-proof bottling from a distillery no longer producing whisky in this form.
