Glenmorangie A Tale of the Forest is a lush, herbaceous limited edition notable for being the distillery’s first whisky crafted from barley kilned with woodland botanicals, an ancient technique revived by Director of Whisky Creation Dr Bill Lumsden. Using juniper berries, birch bark, and heather flowers during the kilning process, he created a spirit that captures the aroma and vitality of the forest. Matured in bourbon casks many of them refill to allow the botanical notes to shine this 46% ABV release delivers a fresh and evocative profile illustrated through its packaging by artist Pomme Chan, whose fantastical woodland artwork reflects the whisky’s nature-inspired character. The nose offers pine, juniper, coriander, forest herbs, and delicate smoke, while the palate reveals green eucalyptus, sweet malt, and bitter orange zest, leading to a slow, gently oaky finish with lingering botanical depth. As a Glenmorangie first, this release stands out for its innovative approach, limited availability, and imaginative presentation, making it a compelling addition for collectors and whisky lovers seeking something truly original within the “Tale of” series.
