The Laphroaig Càirdeas 2023 release combines two beloved maturation styles from past editions, resulting in one of the most flavour-layered expressions in the series. Three quarters of the whisky is matured in second-fill Madeira casks, bringing rich notes of spice, smoke, and sweet fruits. The remaining quarter is finished in first-fill Port casks predominantly white port adding crisp orchard fruit brightness and subtle woody depth.

Together, these diverse casks create a vibrant, smoky, and fruit-forward Islay malt that retains Laphroaig’s unmistakable DNA of iodine-rich smoke, coastal minerality, and earthy sweetness. Bottled at 52.3% ABV and released exclusively for Friends of Laphroaig, the 2023 Càirdeas is a standout limited edition that appeals to collectors and peat lovers alike.
