Sullivans Cove TD0455 is an exceptional single-cask Tasmanian whisky, distilled in November 2013 and decanted in December 2024 after 11 years of maturation in a 300L French oak ex-tawny cask. This second-fill French oak cask, previously used for an earlier batch of Sullivans Cove single malt, imparts refined spice, confectionery, and nutty depth to the vibrant spirit. Bottled unflocked and unfiltered at 48.1% ABV, this release yielded only 496 bottles, with this example being bottle 452 of 496. The whisky features earthy musk sticks, dried figs, honeyed carrots, caramelized sugars, and liquorice allsorts on the nose. On the palate, it offers silky smoothness with toasted marshmallow, crème brûlée, golden syrup dumplings, treacle, dark chocolate, cranberries, and cherries. The long, waxy finish includes waffles, maple syrup, ice cream, ripe banana, and a persistent sweet depth.
