Nant The Old Mill Reserve Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky
- Low stock - 1 item left
Named for the water-driven flour mill built on the Nant estate in 1823, still standing and still central to the property's identity, Old Mill Reserve is matured across a combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks. Like Homestead, it's a vatted release rather than a single-cask bottling, blending the two wood types for a fruitier, more spice-forward character than either cask alone would give. Nant no longer produces whisky in this style, and Old Mill Reserve is considered one of the more sought-after bottlings from the estate's early archive.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Dried fruit and baking spice, with the sweetness of bourbon oak underneath.
Palate: Fruity and spiced, balancing the roundness of ex-sherry cask against the vanilla and caramel notes typical of ex-bourbon wood.
Finish: Warming, spice-led, with dried fruit carrying through to the close.
Why Choose Nant Old Mill Reserve
A fitting choice for anyone drawn to the history behind the bottle as much as what's in the glass β this release is tied directly to the estate's convict-era water mill, and its combination of cask types gives a fuller picture of what Nant's early whisky-making looked like.
