Released in 2020, this rare commemorative two-bottle set celebrates the 100th wedding anniversary of Nikka’s founder, Masataka Taketsuru, and his Scottish wife, Jessie Roberta “Rita” Cowan. The set features one bottle each from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, both finished in casks that previously held apple brandy a tribute to Rita’s early role in supporting Nikka through apple juice and jam production while the first whiskies matured. The apple brandy casks impart refined orchard fruit nuances that beautifully complement Yoichi’s bold, peated spirit and Miyagikyo’s elegant, fruity profile. A historically significant and exceptionally crafted release.
