Yamazaki

Yamazaki is Japan's oldest and most iconic whisky distillery, established by Shinjiro Torii in 1923 in the misty confluence of three rivers south of Kyoto. The distillery produces Suntory's flagship single malt range, widely regarded as among the finest whiskies in the world. Yamazaki 12 Year Old, 18 Year Old and the rare 25 Year Old have become benchmark expressions for Japanese whisky, and bottles are increasingly difficult to find at retail. What makes Yamazaki so distinctive is the extraordinary range of cask types used in maturation: American white oak, Spanish Sherry oak and Japanese Mizunara oak all contribute to the layered complexity, rich fruit and subtle spice that define the Yamazaki house style.
