Black Bluff is the fifth release in the Henry’s Legacy Series from Hellyers Road Distillery in Tasmania. Slightly peated and aged for 13 years in a 200L American Oak ex-bourbon cask (Cask #4099.04), this limited-edition single malt was bottled at natural cask strength—63.7% ABV—and is non-chill filtered to retain maximum character.
Only 264 bottles were produced, each accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and an A4 landscape image of the Black Bluff region that inspired the name. This release also earned a Gold Medal in the “Single Cask Single Malt” category at the 2019 World Whisky Awards, highlighting both its rarity and its quality.
Hellyers Road Distillery, established in 1999 in Burnie, Tasmania, is the island’s oldest operating whisky distillery. Named after explorer Henry Hellyer, the distillery produces a wide range of single malt expressions known for their purity, distinctive cask finishes, and regional character.
Utilising pristine Tasmanian ingredients and long, slow fermentation, Hellyers Road is especially respected for its cask strength and limited-edition releases—including the award-winning Henry’s Legacy Series.
