Initially matured for 16 years in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky was then finished for an additional 3 years in a French oak liqueur cask, adding layers of richness and depth. Bottled at a natural cask strength of 57% ABV, this single cask yielded only a small number of individually numbered bottles, making it one of the most collectible releases from Hellyers Road.
Nose: Honey-lashed orange Jaffa with Lindt dark chocolate and lemon marmalade on toast, wrapped in a butterscotch cloak. Crisp green apple provides a floral zest.
Palate: Caramel leads the way, joined by toffee apple and malt chocolate, supported by subtle cereal and oak. All the nuances of distillation come through elegantly.
Finish: Warming and elegant, with a smooth medium length finish that lingers with refined complexity.
