Heartwood The Lost Convict
Bottled in November 2014 and limited to just 165 bottles, The Lost Convict is a powerful Heartwood release that tells a distinctly Tasmanian story in the glass. The whisky is a tiny marriage of port-cask single malts: 95% from Sullivans Cove (Port cask HH0543, filled November 2000) and 5% from Lark (Port cask LD407, filled March 2008). Presented at natural cask strength 66% ABV, it’s an unapologetically intense, richly fruited dram with serious collector appeal.
Bottle 116 of 165.

Heartwood The Lost Convict Tasting Notes
Nose: Intensely sweet with spicy, savoury port notes and a punchy oak presence; cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and a winey port character.
Palate: Sweet and powerfully spicy—cinnamon, nutmeg and dominant port flavours—black pepper heat at first, then allspice and lush red fruits.
Finish: Exceptionally long and sophisticated, where port, black pepper and wood spices meld into a rich, satisfying close.
