Hakushu Distillery
Founded in 1973, Hakushu is Suntory’s second malt whisky distillery and is situated in the forested mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture. Known for its fresh, herbal, and lightly peated style, Hakushu benefits from one of the purest water sources in Japan and a diverse range of still shapes, allowing for complex and layered spirit production. The distillery’s high elevation and cool climate contribute to a slower, more nuanced maturation process.
