Ardbeg An Oa takes its name from the Mull of Oa, a rugged part of Islay’s coastline, reflecting its balance of power and smoothness. This single malt scotch whisky is matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, charred virgin oak, and ex-bourbon casks, then married in French oak for enhanced depth. With its approachable yet complex character, Ardbeg An Oa single malt scotch whisky is an excellent choice for both seasoned whisky lovers and newcomers to peated Scotch.
Nose: Balanced aromas of toffee, dates, and a subtle smokiness.
Palate: Creamy and smooth with flavours of toffee, pear, aniseed, chocolate, and spice, all wrapped in a smoky, earthy undertone.

Among the Ardbeg range, An Oa stands out as the most approachable. It delivers a softer, rounded peat profile while still capturing the bold smoky depth Ardbeg is known for. Thanks to its diverse cask maturation, An Oa brings layered sweetness and spice, offering a rich yet balanced experience. Whether you sip it neat or with a drop of water, An Oa consistently impresses with its smooth, memorable finish.
Situated on the southern coast of Islay, Ardbeg Distillery has built its reputation on bold, heavily peated whisky. Since its founding in 1815, the distillery has combined time-honoured methods with forward-thinking innovation. Its malt, peated to around 50ppm, creates a smoky, maritime character that defines its style. Yet, despite the intensity, Ardbeg maintains balance and complexity across its range. Expressions like Ardbeg 10, Uigeadail, and Corryvreckan continue to win international awards, solidifying Ardbeg’s status as a go-to for peat lovers and collectors alike.
